Mission

In the late ’90s and early ’00s,
DJ Chaotic Smoke and MC/Producer Mr Cool the 8th
were among countless unsigned artists
fighting to shape the future of Rap-
a future rooted in the fearless innovation
of the genre's Golden Age.
But the industry shifted.
Artistry gave way to commercial product.
Pioneers chose nostalgia over progress.
And the duo found themselves
adrift for more than a decade.
Now-
as new voices chase the spark in fits and starts,
and legends return with flashes of their past greatness
but no new innovations,
the time has come for something greater:
A RE-EVOLUTION of Rap music,
the most vital genre of the 20th century
and beyond.
With sharper skills,
with vision few dare to chase,
Chaotic Smoke and Mr Cool ignite the spark with REVO.
This is our mission.
And it’s only beginning.

Sampled Works

The artists are firm proponents of the art of sampling as being foundational to Rap music. REVO is a not-for-profit project that is being distributed outside of the traditional music industry, and as such, none of its samples are "cleared." However, the artists wish to acknowledge the following works, which were used in its creation.
